What is JCI Accreditation?
Joint Commission International (JCI) is a non-profit organization from United States. Accreditation means that certain standards are set internationally so that the quality of care is improved. [1] Being an accredited organization, this gives an assurance to the patients and staff. [1] JCI Accreditation standards are derived from international consensus standards which set the standards for the hospital’s principles and processes. [1, 2] This assesses the important functions of acute care organizations. [2] Thus, in compliance with these standards; the risks of having adverse outcomes can be reduced. With JCI Accreditation, the quality of patient care can be improved in healthcare organizations within their nation. [1]
